Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!

Love Sudoku? Then get ready for Battle of Sudoku, a multiplayer version where you compete against other players or teams! The goal remains the classic Sudoku challenge: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so that each column, row, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Before the puzzle begins, you can select a difficulty level (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 being hardest). This determines the number of pre-filled digits, affecting the challenge for all players simultaneously. Everyone starts with the identical puzzle.

Game Modes:

The game offers two modes, configurable in the options:

• Show Opponent's Correct Numbers: Each correctly placed number is visible to all players. Only the first player to correctly place a number earns points for that number.
• Hide Opponent's Correct Numbers: Correct numbers are only visible to the player who placed them. This allows multiple players to earn points for the same number.

Time-Outs: Incorrect placements result in a time-out, preventing the player from making further moves while others continue. The time-out duration is customizable (default: 30 seconds).

Scoring: Correct numbers earn points, with higher difficulty levels awarding more points per correct number. Incorrect placements deduct half the points earned for a correct placement.

Winning: The game ends when the puzzle is completely solved. The player with the highest score wins. In the "Hide Opponent's Correct Numbers" mode, the game ends when one player solves the puzzle, though this doesn't grant extra points; other players can still win by making fewer mistakes.

Team vs. Individual Play:

A team mode allows two teams to compete. Players select their team (1 or 2) upon joining. At least two players per team are required. Team points are cumulative, and notes/filled colors are shared within the team, enabling collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar beneath the puzzle provides tools to aid in solving:

• Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to empty squares. Selecting a number already present in a square removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares (including solved ones).
