FIFA Joins Forces with eFootball for FIFAe World Cup 2024

The unexpected collaboration between Konami and FIFA for an esports event is a surprising twist, especially given their long history of competition. However, it's official: FIFAe Virtual World Cup 2024 will utilize Konami's eFootball platform.

In-Game Qualifiers Now Live on eFootball!

This year's tournament features two divisions: Console (PS4 and PS5) and Mobile. Eighteen nations – Brazil, Japan, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey – are vying for the final spots.

Three-stage in-game qualifiers run from October 10th to 20th, followed by National Nomination Phases from October 28th to November 3rd. The offline final round will conclude in late 2024; the precise date remains unannounced. Even players from outside the 18 participating countries can compete in qualifiers up to Round 3, earning rewards like 50 eFootball coins, 30,000 XP, and other bonuses.

A Hilarious Twist of Fate!

The partnership is particularly noteworthy considering the long-standing rivalry. Recall that EA and FIFA severed ties in 2022 after a decade-long partnership, allegedly due to FIFA's exorbitant licensing fee demands ($1 billion every four years, a significant increase from the previous $150 million). This led to the release of EA Sports FC 24 in 2023, sans the FIFA branding. Now, FIFA has found a new partner in Konami's eFootball.

Download eFootball from the Google Play Store and participate in the current special event featuring a custom Bruno Fernandes and an 8x match experience multiplier for expedited Dream Team progression.
