Escape the Cursed Forest: A Simple, Yet Enthralling Non-Field RPG

Embark on a captivating adventure in this minimalist non-field RPG where you, the village's best hunter, must escape a cursed forest. The prologue sets the stage: you've journeyed to a hunting tournament, only to find the forest eerily deserted, a chilling scene of abandoned hunter camps. Your journey to escape begins here.

Unraveling the "Elven Curse"

Aided by a mysterious quarter-elf, Foria, you'll navigate this treacherous environment. Gameplay is streamlined with a maximum of three button presses per action (excluding the main menu).

Character Creation & Progression

While character customization is limited to stat rerolling, you can experiment until you're satisfied. Stat increases upon leveling up are only visible on the character creation screen – remember this, as it's crucial information. Running out of "talismans" (you start with less than two) or losing all your life force means game over.

Foria: Your Unlikely Ally

Foria, a seemingly young quarter-elf, assists you, drawing upon the ancient forest spirits to aid your escape.

Exploration and Encounters

Explore the forest by uncovering unexplored areas. The success of each exploration attempt depends on the "fog depth" of the area, which is influenced by your character's stats. Should your life force dwindle, utilize poison or rare talismans to recover, or strategically retreat to Foria.

Hunter Battles

Wild beasts, from wolves to surprisingly aggressive frogs and rabbits, roam the forest. Defeating them yields valuable hides for trading with Foria. Unlike traditional RPGs, battles aren't essential for progression; they're avoidable, though this requires skill, luck, or strategic play. As a hunter, you use a bow and arrow, requiring distance to attack safely. Closing the distance means facing a one-sided attack. Choose to withdraw or use a "flash" ball provided by Foria to escape.

Cloak Crafting & Layering

Craft a cloak using gathered branches, resin, and leather to enhance your abilities. Up to three layers can be added, each boosting your stats. The cloak can even restore vitality, but beware: it can tear and become unusable.
