MAME4droid (0.37b5)

MAME4droid (a port of MAME 0.37b5 by the MAME Team) was developed by D. Valdeita.

MAME4droid is the Android version of iMAME4all (for jailbroken iPhone/iPad), both created by David Valdeita (Seleuco). It is a port of the MAME 0.37b5 emulator by Nicola Salmoria and the MAME team, based on Franxis's GP2X and WIZ MAME4ALL 2.5.

This app emulates arcade games originally supported by MAME 0.37b5, plus additional titles from newer MAME versions.

It supports over 2,000 different ROM sets.

Please understand that with this many games, some will perform better than others, and some may not run at all on MAME4droid.

We kindly ask that you do not email requests for specific games to be made compatible.

Older devices may not deliver optimal performance. To improve performance, try lowering the sound quality, turning sound off, using 8-bit color depth, underclocking the CPU and sound CPUs, and disabling stick/button animations and smooth scaling.

After installation, place your MAME-compatible zipped ROMs in the /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4all/roms folder.

MAME4droid and iMAME4all use the '0.37b5' and 'GP2X, WIZ 0.37b11' MAME ROM sets. To convert ROM sets from other MAME versions, use the "clrmame.dat" file included in /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4all/ with the ClrMAME Pro utility, available here:

MAME4droid does not support save states, as it is based on a MAME version that lacks this feature.
