Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Global Release Schedule Announced

Ubisoft has officially announced the global release times for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, marking a significant shift from the typical release strategies seen in previous Ubisoft titles. This time, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will launch simultaneously across the globe with a uniform release date, and there will be no option for early access by paying extra.

For players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will become available at 12am local time on March 20. However, the release schedule for PC players varies depending on the platform. Those purchasing through Steam will see different release times compared to those using Ubisoft’s own platform, Ubi Connect.

Pre-loading is already open for Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and PC, allowing eager fans to get ready for the launch.

The stakes are high for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, especially after Ubisoft faced several challenges with delays and the underwhelming sales of last year's Star Wars Outlaws. The company has also been dealing with high-profile flops, layoffs, studio closures, and game cancellations leading up to this release.

IGN’s review of Assassin’s Creed Shadows awarded it an 8/10, praising the game for refining its open-world mechanics: “By sharpening the edges of its existing systems, Assassin’s Creed Shadows creates one of the best versions of the open-world style it’s been honing for the last decade.”
