The farm expansion feature, introduced in the v0.13.0 update, allows you to significantly increase your farm's size by adding new land across the river to the right. How to Unlock Farm Expansion in Fields of Mistria

To unlock the farm expansion, you'll need to head to the **Carpenter’s Shop** located in the Eastern Road area. You can purchase the expansion as early as your first year, but there are some prerequisites you must meet first.

Firstly, you need to help the town reach **Rank 55** by earning enough Renown points. Achieving this rank is essential as it also unlocks the Stone Refinery repair quest, which you'll need to complete to gather some of the materials for the expansion. Both the town rank and the quest completion are interconnected, ensuring you progress systematically.

Once these initial requirements are met, you'll need to gather a significant amount of materials, making this one of the largest investments in the game. Prepare for a grind as you collect everything necessary for the expansion.

How to Build Farm Expansion in Fields of Mistria

To start building your farm expansion, visit the Carpenter’s Shop on the Eastern Road, northeast of Mistria’s town center. From the shop’s main menu, select ‘Farm Expansion’ at the bottom to view the requirements.

The first requirement is **40,000 Tesserae**, which covers the monetary cost of the upgrade. Accumulating this amount will take time, so maximize your efforts in gathering resources, farming, and completing quests. Regularly visit the Mines, fish whenever you can, and contribute new items to the Museum to earn Tesserae.

Next, you'll need **50 x Refined Stone**, which is a significant challenge. To obtain this, you must first repair the **Stone Refinery**, a task that becomes available once you reach Town Rank 55. Additionally, you'll need to repair the **Inn** before you can tackle the Stone Refinery.

Lastly, you'll need **50 x Hard Wood**, which is relatively easier to gather. Once you have a **Copper Axe**, you can chop **large tree stumps** around your farm and beyond, each yielding 2 x Hard Wood. You can also acquire Hard Wood from **Balor’s Cart** on specific days or by turning in enough items to the Museum.

With all the required materials and money in hand, return to the Carpenter’s Shop and select ‘Buy’ to purchase the expansion. This will extend your farm eastward across the river, complete with a new bridge for easy access.
