Running a livestock farm in *Fields of Mistria* can be lucrative, but the daily chore of petting your animals can quickly become tedious. Fortunately, there's a solution: an auto-petter mod! While the base game doesn't include this feature, modding opens up exciting possibilities.

The *Animal Friends* mod by annanomoly on Nexus Mods provides an auto-petting function, along with an auto-feeder. However, you'll need the *Mods of Mistria Installer* to use it. This isn't optional; the mod won't work without it.
Here's how to install the mod:
- Create a new folder named "Mods" within your *Fields of Mistria* game directory.
- Download
AnimalFriends.zip
and place it in the "Mods" folder. - Extract the zip file. You can then delete or move the original zip file.
- Run the *Mods of Mistria Installer* to install the mod.
The *Animal Friends* mod offers several customizable features: auto-petting, auto-feeding, a friendship multiplier, and prevention of friendship loss. The multiplier increases the hearts your animals gain, while the prevention feature ensures those hearts don't decrease.
To adjust settings, locate AnimalFriends.json
within the extracted mod folder. This file allows for easy configuration. To enable a feature, change "false" to "true" (and vice-versa to disable).
The friendship multiplier requires a numerical input (1-100). A setting of 100 bypasses the need for bonding, while 1 disables the multiplier.
Note: The mod's default settings don't automatically activate auto-petting or auto-feeding. However, it does multiply heart gains from petting by five and automatically enables friendship loss prevention.
To remove the mod, use the *Mods of Mistria Installer* to uninstall it properly. Simply deleting the folder could corrupt your save file.
Remember to back up your save before installing any mods, even seemingly stable ones. This is always best practice.
Fields of Mistria is available on PC.
