Bam Margera's inclusion in the upcoming Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 has been confirmed, despite his absence from the initially announced roster of returning skaters. Skateboarding media veteran Roger Bagley revealed this news during a members-only livestream of The Nine Club skateboarding podcast, as reported by Video Games Chronicle.
According to Bagley, the game was already complete when Tony Hawk himself reached out to Activision, requesting Margera's addition. Despite being initially told it was not feasible, Hawk's persistence paid off. IGN has reached out to Activision for further comment on this development.
Margera, known for his skateboarding prowess and his role in the Jackass franchise, has faced significant personal challenges, including struggles with alcohol and substance abuse, multiple rehab stints, and a recent dismissal from Jackass Forever. Additionally, Margera was subject to a restraining order from Jackass director Jeff Tremaine due to alleged threats against Tremaine and his family.
The anticipation of Margera's return to the game was fueled by a recent video he shared with Tony Hawk, showcasing them skateboarding together.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, announced earlier this month, is set to launch on July 11, 2025, and will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Developed by Iron Galaxy, the game has overcome significant hurdles, including the near cancellation following the merger of previous developer Vicarious Visions with Blizzard.
