Battlefield 6 Hits 740,000 Concurrent Steam Players at Launch

Author : Zachary Update:Dec 10,2025

Battlefield 6 has rocketed to a massive launch on Steam, drawing in over 740,000 simultaneous players at its peak.

At the moment of writing, Battlefield 6 is hosting 747,440 concurrent players on Steam. This makes EA's fresh FPS offering the second most-played title on Valve's platform, trailing only Counter-Strike 2. It has already secured a spot as the 14th most-played game in Steam's history, poised to overtake Larian's Baldur’s Gate 3.

To put this in perspective, the Battlefield 6 open beta peaked at 521,079 concurrent users. No previous entry in the franchise has approached these figures on Steam. In fact, Battlefield 6 has already surpassed EA's prior Steam record-holder, the free-to-play Apex Legends, making its $70 price tag and achievement even more striking.

For comparison, the Call of Duty app, which aggregates all CoD titles, reached a peak of 491,670 concurrent players on Steam. This suggests Battlefield 6 is rapidly on track to double the record of its main FPS competitor.

The actual concurrent player count is undoubtedly far higher when factoring in PlayStation and Xbox users, though neither Sony nor Microsoft discloses those numbers. (The same applies to Call of Duty, which has traditionally seen stronger console adoption.) Predictably, some Battlefield 6 players are encountering server queues, though current wait times remain brief. While still early, all signs point to a resounding success for EA.

Not only is Battlefield 6 drawing massive crowds, but it's also fostering creativity; one dedicated fan has already recreated the beloved Modern Warfare map, Shipment, in the Portal mode.
