BioWare appears to have set its sights away from expanding Dragon Age: The Veilguard with additional downloadable content (DLC). A recent report by Rolling Stone, featuring insights from BioWare's creative director John Epler, confirms that the studio has no plans for "downloadable expansions" for Veilguard, considering the game to be "now complete." As Veilguard has officially launched, BioWare is now channeling its focus towards the development of the next chapter in its iconic military sci-fi series, Mass Effect.
While the future of Veilguard DLC remains unaddressed, Epler did shed light on the potential for a remastered collection of the earlier Dragon Age titles. Drawing parallels to the successful Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which brought updated versions of Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 to modern consoles, Epler expressed enthusiasm for a similar project for Dragon Age. However, he acknowledged the complexities involved, stating that remastering the first three Dragon Age games would be challenging due to their use of EA's proprietary game engines. Epler concluded with a hopeful note, saying, "It’s something that’s not going to be as easy as Mass Effect, but we do love the original games. Never say never, I guess that’s what it comes down to."
