How to Become a Shinigami in Hollow Era
Initially, you begin as a Soul Spirit. To become a Shinigami, accept the first quest offered by the NPC, Hurt Shinigami. This is a one-way path; choosing Shinigami prevents you from playing as a Hollow, unless you later become a Visored. If a Hollow path is your preference, please consult our Hollow progression guide.

The Shinigami/Hollow choice is time-sensitive. If you select Hollow, simply break your chain. If choosing Shinigami, the chain will break slowly (one section every two minutes). Allowing the chain to fully break will force you into the Hollow path. For Hollow endgame strategies, see our resurrection moves list.
Hollow Era Shinigami Quests Guide
Your first task is purifying 6 Lost Souls. Subsequent quests involve delivering a letter to a doctor near the hospital (obtained from the NPC near Hurt Shinigami). These early quests are an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with your powers. Consider purchasing a $1,000 random power sword from the Urakara shop and, if your budget allows, the $200 bus stop teleport for efficient travel. Alternatively, the Robux shop offers infinite fast travel for 149 Robux.

Quests are marked with a red crosshair. Expect varied objectives, including defeating Hollows and Corrupted Shinigamis, leading to level 15. These quests include repeatable, progression-based, and path-specific tasks (like Vizard and Airwalk).

Full Soul Reaper Skill Tree and Reiatsu
Strategic skill point allocation is crucial for maximizing your Reiatsu. The skill tree features Kido abilities (exclusively for Shinigami):
- Caja Negacion: A lightning beam. Combines with Electric for area-of-effect damage.
- Shakkaho: An explosive energy ball. Ragdoll enables ragdolling; Fire sets enemies on fire.
- Chain Bind: Energy chains pull enemies closer.
- Prison of Light: Immobilizes enemies with light rods.
- Thunder Sear: A slow-moving lightning ball that explodes on contact.
Kido Nodes increase Kido damage, while Reiatsu Nodes increase your maximum Reiatsu.
How to Get Shikai in Hollow Era
Reach level 15 to unlock the Shikai Training quest from Urihiro. Defeating Urahara Kisuke rewards 1700 exp and unlocks Shikai powers. Note: This fight is challenging at level 15; consider leveling to 25 or higher for an easier victory.

Shikai grants a random powerful ability to your weapon. Re-roll it at the Urahara Shop if dissatisfied. Activate Shikai (default Y) when your Rage Bar is full. It ends automatically upon Reiatsu depletion or releasing Y.
Hollow Era Shikai Mastering
Shikai Mastery increases with Mastery Points earned from using Shikai skills. Higher Mastery Levels reduce Rage consumption and grant aura effects:
- Mastery Level 1 (1-149 Points): Transparent Aura
- Mastery Level 2 (150-299 Points): Brighter, particle-filled aura
- Mastery Level 3 (300-499 Points): Lightning boost
- Mastery Level 4 (500+ Points): Zone of flying stones
Becoming a Visored in the Hollow Era
Reach level 50 to unlock the Visored quest at the Vizard’s Warehouse. This path allows switching between Shinigami and Hollow forms using a Hollow Mask. Defeating the King of Hueco Mundo (1% drop rate) yields Hogyoku, crucial for Visored progression.

Hollow Era Visored Mastering
Visored perks include Mask Control (reducing Hollow control chance) and the Visored node (extending mask duration and damage).

Visored Abilities in Hollow Era
- Hollow Mask: Allows controlled Hollow transformation.
- Cero: A damaging Reiatsu beam.
- Final Cero: A powerful, crushing Cero attack.
- Vasto Rage: A temporary transformation into a powerful Hollow form.
What About Hollow Era Bankai?
Bankai is currently unavailable but expected in future updates.
Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Use the lock-on button to manage combat targets, especially during lag. Master blocking to mitigate damage. Invest in the bus teleport for efficient travel. Prioritize Strength and Speed skill points early on. Press and hold J (default) to reveal markers with Reiatsu sense. While Hollows offer unique advantages, Shinigami may be less tedious for players who dislike repetitive tasks.

This guide covers *Hollow Era* Shinigami progression. Expect bugs and lag; consider using available codes to enhance your early gameplay.
