Crime Scene Cleaner Hires Inebriated Mustache

Author : Zoey Update:Jan 16,2025

Serial Cleaner, the quirky crime-scene cleanup puzzler, is making a comeback! Originally released in 2019, this title is returning, but the extent of its revamp remains unclear. Will it be a polished re-release, or simply a modernized port? Only time will tell.

The game throws you into the gritty, yet cartoonish, 1970s. Think urban decay, stylish gangs, improbable occurrences (like turkeys falling from the sky!), and the cinematic terror of killer sharks. You play as Bob Leaner, a professional crime-scene cleaner tasked with the messy job of disposing of bodies, erasing bloodstains, and generally concealing evidence of mob violence – all while dodging the police.

Our previous 2019 review described the original Serial Cleaner as "half-baked but with potential." Developer Plug-In Digital is now self-publishing this mobile version, suggesting a chance to address past shortcomings.

A Funky Return?

Available for pre-registration now, with a February 11th, 2025 release date, the extent of the improvements remains uncertain. While a significant overhaul would be welcome given the mixed reception, such a substantial update so long after the initial release might be optimistic.

The core concept remains compelling, but a simple mobile re-release dampens expectations somewhat. However, for Android users who missed out, or those experiencing compatibility issues with older iOS versions, this could be a pleasant surprise.
