Paradox Interactive has revealed initial details about their upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion, centered around nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a novel governance system specifically designed for nomadic peoples, incorporating a new currency: "herd." The size of the ruler's herd directly influences their authority, impacting military strength, cavalry unit composition, relationships with vassals, and other core gameplay mechanics.
The nomadic lifestyle necessitates constant relocation. A chieftain's movements are dynamically determined by various factors, including negotiation or forceful displacement of local populations.
Furthermore, rulers will command portable yurts, functioning similarly to adventurer camps. These yurts can be upgraded with components offering diverse benefits.
The expansion also features iconic yurt towns, transported by nomadic kings, mirroring the adventurer camp system. These mobile settlements can be enhanced with additional structures providing a range of functionalities.
