Gematsu uncovered and publicized pre-order listings for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on GameStop's website. While these listings lack images or gameplay details, the timing—hours before Sony's State of Play—suggests an official announcement is imminent. Sony's State of Play promises 40 minutes of content, leaving ample room for a Digimon Story: Time Stranger reveal.
The Digimon Story series boasts a long history, beginning with the original Nintendo DS title in the mid-2000s. Subsequent releases spanned various platforms, including Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (2015), Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory (2017), and a Complete Edition encompassing both in 2019. These RPGs typically involve befriending and battling Digimon.
Despite a 2022 tease from franchise producer Kazumashu Habu hinting at a new Story game, fans have eagerly awaited a new installment. While titles like Digimon Survive offered a temporary fix, Digimon Story: Time Stranger appears poised to finally deliver a true sequel if the leak proves accurate.
