No Man's Sky: A Comprehensive Guide to Acquiring Solanium
Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusive to planets with specific climates. This guide details how to obtain Solanium through gathering, farming, and crafting.
Finding Solanium:
Unlike Frost Crystals, Solanium is found on hot and arid planets. While in space, scan potential planets using your starship's scanner. Look for planet types like Arid, Incandescent, Boiling, or Scorched planets, which often indicate Solanium availability.
Once landed, use your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. These are abundant in specific areas. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. If the planet also contains Phosphorus deposits, collect these as they're crucial for Solanium crafting.
Farming Solanium:
After progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines. Use Hydroponic Trays or Bio-Domes, planting them with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. On hot planets, direct ground planting is also possible. Harvesting takes roughly 16 real-time hours.
Crafting Solanium:
Several Refiner recipes create Solanium, primarily using Phosphorus (obtained from hot planets or Galactic Trade Terminals). Here are the recipes:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (to create more Solanium)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note: Most Solanium crafting methods require a visit to a hot planet, especially for Sulphurine. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base is the most efficient way to ensure a constant supply of Sulphurine.
