EA currently has no plans to release Battlefield 6 on Nintendo Switch 2.
Vince Zampella, Battlefield's executive producer, confirmed to Eurogamer that EA "has no current plans" to port the upcoming shooter to Nintendo's next-generation console.
When questioned about this decision, Zampella explained that—despite being "a huge Switch fan himself"—the development team is prioritizing PC, PlayStation and Xbox platforms where the majority of Battlefield's player base resides.
Originally announced in 2021, Battlefield 6 is scheduled for launch on October 10. Unlike the mixed reception of Battlefield 2042, early community feedback appears overwhelmingly positive, evidenced by EA's unusually relaxed stance on leaked game assets circulating online.
Recent developments include a preview of the game's battle royale mode. Based on early leaks, this mode features a California-based map with CH-47 Chinook helicopter deployments and a destructible zone boundary composed of a fictional material called "NXC." Despite earlier speculation, the game won't carry an $80 price tag.
In IGN's Battlefield 6 preview, we questioned: "Can this nostalgic return to the franchise's golden era—blending elements from fan-favorites like Battlefield 3 and 4—genuinely reignite excitement, or is it playing too safe?"
Our analysis examined key returning features, from the classic class system (Assault, Support, Engineer, Recon) to whether signature 64-player Conquest matches maintain their appeal. For more insights on why we view BF6 as "a calculated yet thrilling step back to the series' roots," read our full preview.
Battlefield 6 launches October 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
