"Elden Ring Nightreign Ditches Poisonous Swamps"

Author : Mila Update:May 21,2025

In the highly anticipated cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, fans of From Software's notorious poisonous swamps will be disappointed to learn that these challenging environments will not feature in this new title. This surprising news was revealed by the project's product manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, during a recent discussion with journalists. Although a similar location was showcased in the *Elden Ring Nightreign* trailer, Kitao clarified that it is a completely different setting.

The absence of poisonous swamps in *Elden Ring Nightreign* can be attributed to the lack of involvement from Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software. Miyazaki is well-known for his fondness for swamp locations, which have become a signature element in both the *Elden Ring* and *Dark Souls* series. However, he did not participate in the development of this game, leading to the exclusion of these iconic areas.

On a brighter note for fans, there is a possibility that *Elden Ring Nightreign* could introduce an additional two-player mode. While the developers have already confirmed one-player and three-player modes, they initially excluded a two-player mode due to content balancing challenges. However, From Software is currently considering the addition of this mode, though a final decision has yet to be made.

*Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC and two generations of consoles, promising an exciting new chapter in the From Software universe.
