In the co-operative horror game R.E.P.O., your mission is clear: retrieve valuable items and survive the ordeal to reap the rewards. The challenge lies in outsmarting the menacing monsters that spawn unpredictably across different locations. Successfully escape with your loot, and you'll be handsomely rewarded by the game's AI Taxman, allowing you to stock up on essential survival gear with your hard-earned cash.
To secure your haul, you must reach the Extraction Point where your C.A.R.T full of treasures is assessed, and the Taxman determines your next steps towards the Service Station. As you advance in R.E.P.O., what initially feels daunting becomes routine, transforming you into a seasoned survivor adept at navigating levels and outwitting monsters.
Mastering Extraction in R.E.P.O.
In your initial foray into R.E.P.O., you'll encounter a single Extraction Point. As you progress to new locations, the number of Extraction Points increases, peaking at four. Keep an eye on the red number in the right-hand corner of your screen to track how many drop-offs you need to complete and how many you've already achieved.
At the start of each level, the first Extraction Point is conveniently located near your R.E.P.O. truck—a constant you can rely on for your first haul. Subsequent extractions, however, require more strategic navigation.
After securing your initial drop-off, continue exploring the level as usual. The Taxman's demands and the location of subsequent Extraction Points remain unknown until you reach their vicinity. Your in-game map, accessible by pressing "Tab," becomes invaluable, helping you plan routes and coordinate with teammates to cover more ground efficiently.
Upon reaching the area of the next Extraction Point, its location becomes evident, either visually or through auditory cues. Once located, activate the big red button to discover whether you've gathered enough valuables. If successful, place your C.A.R.T within the designated grey area to ensure none of your items are destroyed.
After completing the required number of extractions, you'll either proceed to the next point or make your way back to the truck. Note that after the final Extraction Point is secured and your valuables counted, there's no need to return the C.A.R.T to the truck; a new one will be available at the next location or level.
