Timed Exclusivity Expected:

A March 6, 2024 Washington Post report suggests PlayStation secured timed exclusivity for the entire FF7 Remake trilogy. Following the precedent set by previous games (one-year exclusivity for FF7 Remake on PS4, six months for Intergrade on PS5, and a similar period for FF7 Rebirth), Part 3 is likely to follow suit, launching exclusively on PS5 before expanding to other platforms.

Square Enix's Multi-Platform Shift:

Despite the positive reception of the FF7 Remake series, Square Enix's financial report (March 31, 2024) revealed declining sales in its HD titles. In response, the company announced a strategic shift towards a multi-platform approach, encompassing Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. This decision could potentially lead to wider availability of future Square Enix titles, including FF7 Remake Part 3, beyond the initial PS5 exclusivity period.
