Helldivers 2 “Truth Enforcers” Warbond: New Weapons, Armor, and Cosmetics Arrive October 31st
Arrowhead Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment are unleashing the "Truth Enforcers" Warbond, a premium content drop for Helldivers 2, on October 31st, 2024. This isn't just a cosmetic update; it's a major arsenal expansion, allowing players to become Super Earth's elite Truth Enforcers.
This Warbond functions similarly to a battle pass, using earned Medals to unlock items. Unlike typical battle passes, it's permanent; once purchased (for 1,000 Super Credits via the Acquisitions Center), access remains.
The "Truth Enforcers" theme centers on upholding the Ministry of Truth's ideals. Expect powerful new weaponry and armor sets.
New weapons include:
- PLAS-15 Loyalist Plasma Pistol: A versatile sidearm with semi-automatic and charged shot modes.
- SMG-32 Reprimand: A rapid-firing submachine gun ideal for close-quarters combat.
- SG-20 Halt: A shotgun switching between stun and armor-piercing rounds.
Two new armor sets, both featuring the Unflinching perk (reduced stagger from hits), are also included:
- UF-16 Inspector: Sleek, white light armor with red accents and a "Proof of Faultless Virtue" cape.
- UF-50 Bloodhound: Medium armor with red accents and a "Pride of the Whistleblower" cape.
Further additions include new banners, cosmetic patterns for hellpods, exosuits, and Pelican-1, and an "At Ease" emote. The "Dead Sprint" booster lets players sprint and dive past stamina limits at the cost of health.
Despite a successful launch with a peak of 458,709 concurrent Steam players (excluding PS5), Helldivers 2's player base has since declined, partly due to initial account linking issues. While the August "Escalation of Freedom" update saw a boost, the current player count sits below 40,000 on Steam. Whether the "Truth Enforcers" Warbond will revitalize the game remains to be seen, but the content looks promising.
