If you're a fan of Japanese music, you're no stranger to HYDE, the legendary artist who has graced the stage at Madison Square Garden and sold over 40 million records. Now, he's stepping into the world of gaming as the star of a new endless runner game, Hyde Run, which has just launched globally.
Originally launched in Japan, Hyde Run is now accessible to players worldwide. The game's developer and publisher, Phoenixx, aims to give global fans a unique way to celebrate HYDE's illustrious music career through a game packed with references to his journey in the industry.
Move, Jump, or Slide in Hyde Run
In Hyde Run, you'll take on the role of HYDE, dashing through a concert stage intertwined with a futuristic Tokyo landscape. Engage in a high-speed chase across Neo Tokyo, skillfully dodging obstacles, executing wall-runs past vibrant billboards, and collecting musical notes along the way.
Unlike typical endless runners, Hyde Run immerses you in a world pulsating with neon lights and the electrifying energy of a guitar solo. The game is filled with fan service and nods to HYDE's career, making it a unique experience in the genre.
As you navigate through the city, you can grab various power-ups to enhance your run. These include magnets that attract notes to you and barriers that protect you from damage. Before starting your run, you can equip items like Note Gain to boost your note collection or a Barrier to avoid tripping over obstacles.
Additionally, you can collect crystals to unlock exclusive outfits and room items from HYDE's extensive career. Unlock the Microphone Stand to access voice clips from HYDE himself, adding a personal touch to your gaming experience.
There’s More to Explore in the Game
Hyde Run also allows you to customize HYDE's room within the game. You'll discover memorabilia spanning 20 years, from classic tour gear to more obscure references. Hidden items unlock additional messages and voice notes from HYDE, enriching your experience.
Currently, there's a range of limited-time content available until June 10th, 2025. The THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set features HYDE in an iconic look from a music video, complete with matching ROCK Furniture such as leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights.
For a more relaxed vibe, the Bat Jinbei Costume Set offers a summer festival-inspired look. Alternatively, the Japanese-style furniture set brings a traditional touch with bamboo elements, bonboris, and a wind chime resembling HYDE's Edyh character.
