Destiny Child is Reborn: A New Idle RPG on the Horizon
Destiny Child, the popular mobile game that captivated players in 2016, is making a triumphant return. After a "memorial" period in September 2023, Com2uS has partnered with original developer ShiftUp to breathe new life into the franchise.
A Fresh Take on a Classic?
This isn't a simple relaunch; Com2uS is developing a brand-new Destiny Child game, this time an idle RPG. Development is spearheaded by Com2uS's subsidiary, Tiki Taka Studio, known for their work on titles like the tactical RPG, Arcana Tactics.
While retaining the beloved 2D character art and the spirit of the original, the new Destiny Child will feature entirely new gameplay mechanics. Expect a fresh, reimagined experience.
Remembering the Past: The Destiny Child Memorial
The original Destiny Child, remembered for its charming characters and dynamic real-time battles, concluded its run after nearly seven years. However, ShiftUp thoughtfully provided a "memorial" version of the app, allowing players to revisit their cherished characters.
This memorial app, accessible only to players with pre-shutdown accounts (requiring verification), showcases the stunning character illustrations and allows players to reminisce about their Childs. While battles are unavailable, the memorial offers a nostalgic journey through the game's iconic artwork and character roster. Download it from the Google Play Store and relive the memories until the new game launches.
