The PC version of Stellar Blade is set to launch via Steam on June 11, accompanied by a suite of PC-specific enhancements, as unveiled by a trailer mistakenly released by Sony. The trailer, which was briefly available on the PlayStation YouTube channel before being taken down, also announced the launch of the Complete Edition of Shift Up's acclaimed PS5 action game. Despite the quick removal, the internet preserved the trailer, and we anticipate its official release shortly.
The Complete Edition encompasses the base game along with all DLC released to date for both PS5 and PC. This news arrives more than a year following Stellar Blade's successful debut on PS5 in April 2024.
Stellar Blade on PC comes equipped with a host of features tailored for the platform, including AI upscaling with Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3, an unlocked framerate, Japanese and Chinese voiceover options, support for ultrawide displays, enhanced environment textures, and DualSense compatibility for haptic feedback and trigger effects.
The trailer also showcases a new boss battle against Mann, Leader of the Sentinels, and introduces 25 new costumes, which are expected to be available on PS5 as well. Notably, at the trailer's conclusion, Eve releases a memory stick—a scene absent from the original game. This has sparked speculation among fans about the possibility of a new ending or additional DLC.
Stellar Blade proved to be a major success for Korean developer Shift Up, generating $43 million in royalties in its latest financial year. The studio anticipates that the PC version will surpass the sales of the PS5 version, which sold over a million copies within two months. Shift Up is also considering developing another game within the franchise.
In Stellar Blade, players assume the role of Eve, engaging in fast-paced action RPG combat to reclaim Earth from unknown invaders. The game received a 7/10 score from IGN and quickly became popular, selling a million copies shortly after launch.
"Stellar Blade excels in all the critical aspects of an action game, yet its dull characters, underwhelming story, and certain frustrating RPG mechanics keep it from reaching the pinnacle of its genre," we remarked.
