Marvel Rivals: Nintendo Switch 2 Release Rumors

Marvel Rivals, once thought unlikely to appear on Nintendo Switch, now stands on the brink of possibility with the arrival of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. While earlier reports from NetEase indicated that the original Switch lacked the necessary power to run the game effectively, the enhanced capabilities of its successor have reopened the door to a potential release.

During the recent DICE Summit, producer Weikang Wu confirmed that talks between NetEase and Nintendo are currently underway. The key factor in determining a launch remains performance consistency:

"The first-generation Switch simply didn’t have the power to deliver the gameplay experience we envisioned. But if the Switch 2 can handle it, we’re absolutely ready to bring the game to the platform."

Previously, game director Thaddeus Sasser stated there were no plans for a mobile version or a launch on the original Switch. However, should Marvel Rivals make its way to the Switch 2, it would likely involve a custom-built version tailored specifically to the new system’s hardware specifications.

With the official announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2, major players in the gaming industry are already showing interest. Xbox head Phil Spencer has expressed openness to bringing Xbox titles to the hybrid console, and Electronic Arts (EA) has also voiced support for the platform.

In the meantime, Marvel Rivals continues to evolve. Upcoming updates are set to introduce two iconic members of the Fantastic Four, promising to reshape the dynamics of the battlefield and further expand the game's superhero roster.
