Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown kicked off Season 1, launching at the season's start. This map is designed for Marvel Rivals' payload mode, known as Convoy, where teams either escort or attempt to stop a moving vehicle across the map. It's the third Convoy map in Rivals, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands.
Set under Dracula’s Blood Moon, Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown transforms New York City into a dark, thrilling battleground. Key Points of Interest on this map include iconic locations from the Marvel Universe and real-world Midtown Manhattan:
- Baxter Building
- Grand Central Terminal
- Stark/Avengers Tower
- Fisk Tower
- Ardmore’s Bookstore
- Timely Trend
Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
The Empire of Eternal Night version of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Santorum was added to Marvel Rivals in Season 1, exclusively hosting the Doom Match mode. This free-for-all deathmatch mode challenges players to survive and eliminate opponents, with wins awarded to those in the top half of the leaderboard, and an MVP title for the best player.
The Sanctum Santorum map beautifully captures the mystical essence of Doctor Strange’s mansion, first introduced in a 1963 comic and now famous through the MCU. Located in New York City, it serves as Earth’s supernatural defense hub in Marvel Rivals. The map is filled with secrets and Easter eggs, including supernatural rooms, impossible ceilings, portals, an infinite staircase, and even Bats The Ghost Dog, who players can interact with.
Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park
Expected to launch in the second half of Season 1, the Central Park map remains somewhat mysterious. In real life, Central Park lies between Manhattan's Upper West and Upper East Sides and has been featured in various Marvel properties, most notably in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (2023).
In Marvel Rivals, the Central Park map will focus on a stylized version of Belvedere Castle, a Gothic architectural gem situated at one of the park's highest points. This setting is perfect for the Empire of Eternal Night theme and could serve as a strategic hideout for Dracula within New York City.
These are all the new maps introduced in Marvel Rivals Season 1, each offering unique gameplay experiences and stunning representations of Marvel's New York under the Empire of Eternal Night.
