Capcom extends the Monster Hunter Wilds beta test by 24 hours to compensate for a PlayStation Network outage.
The PlayStation Network (PSN) experienced a significant service disruption starting Friday, February 7th, at approximately 3 PM PT, lasting roughly 24 hours. Sony attributed the outage to an "operational issue," offering PlayStation Plus subscribers five extra days of service as compensation.
This outage impacted online gaming, including the highly anticipated second beta for Monster Hunter Wilds, which was scheduled from February 6th to 9th. The weekend session was unfortunately cut short.
In response, Capcom announced a 24-hour extension to the next beta session. The revised schedule is as follows:
New Beta Dates:
- Start: Thursday, February 13th, 7 PM PT / Friday, February 14th, 3 AM GMT
- End: Monday, February 17th, 6:59 PM PT / Tuesday, February 18th, 2:59 AM GMT
Capcom confirmed that players participating during this extended period will still receive in-game participation bonuses available in the full release.
Despite the previous PSN downtime, beta testers had the opportunity to engage with the challenging new monster, Arkveld.
