Marvel Rivals' character popularity reveals interesting trends based on official website data. In "quick play," Jeff reigned supreme, outperforming Venom and Cloak & Dagger. However, competitive modes showed different preferences. On PC, Luna Snow, Cloak & Dagger, and Mantis led the pack, while on consoles, Cloak & Dagger, Penny Parker, and Mantis dominated.
Surprisingly, the most popular competitive character, Mantis, also suffered the most defeats. Her dominance extended across both PC and console platforms, surpassing Hela, Loki, and Magic. Consoles saw a broader success, with 14 additional characters boasting win rates exceeding 50%.
Conversely, unpopular choices emerged. Storm, Black Widow, and Wolverine lagged in "quick play," while Nemore occupied the bottom rung in competitive modes.
Marvel Rivals is currently facing controversy after receiving over 500 mods within a month. The removal of mods from Nexus Mods, which replaced Captain America's head with Donald Trump and Joe Biden's images, sparked significant player backlash.
Nexus Mods' owner, TheDarkOne, explained the decision in a private Reddit discussion, stating that both Trump and Biden-themed mods were removed simultaneously to avoid accusations of bias. This action, however, has seemingly gone unnoticed by YouTube gaming commentators.
