Fantasy War Tactics R Shutting Down by Nexon

After nearly a decade of operation, Fantasy War Tactics R has announced its end of service. That means the turn-based tactics, grid-based movement, and strategic team-building are coming to a close. It's certainly disappointing for fans who have enjoyed the game over the years.

Originally launched by Nexon GT in November 2015 and published by Nexon, the game later transitioned to Valofe in a widely criticized move during Season 2. Since then, many veteran players felt the game gradually lost its original charm.

Fantasy War Tactics R End of Service Date

The servers will officially go offline on July 29th, 2025, at 10:00 AM KST. Before that, a few final updates will be rolled out to wrap things up.

In-app purchases will be disabled starting June 24th, 2025, at 08:00 AM KST. However, players can still use any remaining in-game currency until the final shutdown.

If you purchased the Premium Level Up Package and haven’t claimed all rewards, a final Premium Set Reward will be distributed after the next maintenance.

A Farewell Event will run from June 24th to July 29th. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those who want to give it one last try.

Have You Played Fantasy War Tactics R?

Fantasy War Tactics R launched in 154 countries, offering a unique take on mobile SRPGs. It featured 12 regions, 180 dungeons, and more than 50 heroes to collect.

Key mechanics included directional combat and a rock-paper-scissors style battle system. One of its most praised features was the ability to obtain heroes through gene farming, reducing reliance on gacha pulls.

After the shift to Valofe, the game underwent noticeable changes. Balance adjustments became inconsistent, updates grew less frequent, and communication with the community declined.

Given these shifts, the decision to end service comes as no surprise. Feel free to share your own memories of the game in the comments.
