Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Classic Nintendo Console Throwback Event

Pikmin Bloom is all set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is bringing back some nostalgia with a bang. The festivities kick off with a new event starting on May 1st, 2025, so mark your calendars!

The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!

Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted us with unique decor, such as Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For its 3.5th anniversary, the game is taking us on a trip down memory lane with classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s. It's a fantastic nod to the era when Nintendo was synonymous with groundbreaking gaming experiences.

Additionally, Niantic is introducing a Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin, paying homage to Nintendo's roots in the playing card industry before they ventured into the world of video games. The designs of these cards are inspired by Nintendo's vintage playing card decks, adding a layer of authenticity to the celebration.

The event will run from May 1st until May 31st, 2025, giving you a whole month to engage in missions and collect these cool new Pikmin. Completing an Event Challenge mission rewards you with random goodies, including Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles '80-'95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.

During the event, keep an eye out for Brilliant Mushrooms. Smashing these yields Mystery Boxes filled with items like Game Button Cells, flower petals, and more. The Nintendo Consoles '80-'95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin are your best bet for efficiently taking down these mushrooms.

Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May

May is the month for big blooms in Pikmin Bloom. Plant red, yellow, white, or blue petals around your flowers, and watch them transform into stunning carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses.

There's also an exciting nectar update this May. Fruits from mushrooms will now give you nectar not just for regular flowers but also for special blooms like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
