Honedge, Doublade, and Aegislash make their Pokémon Go debut
Earn generous rewards through various in-game activities
Just as trainers finish exploring time distortions and hunting Hisuian Zorua, Pokémon Go announces its next Ultra Unlock event. Steel and Scales launches on July 22nd, introducing Kalos region's iconic sword Pokémon to the game. The evolutionary line of Honedge, Doublade, and Aegislash finally arrives after years of anticipation.
This second Ultra Unlock event continues delivering impressive bonuses, including quadrupled XP and Stardust for catches, plus increased Shiny odds for Bagon, Beldum, and Unown U in raids. The most exciting addition? Honedge and its evolutions will become available through Go Battle League rewards during the event.
Starting at Rank 6 during the event (and Rank 16 afterward), trainers can obtain these sword Pokémon through reward tracks, with premium paths offering better encounter rates.
Wild spawns will prominently feature metallic and dragon-type creatures, with Magnemite, Dratini, Aron, Noibat, and Ferroseed appearing more frequently. Shiny hunters should watch for the possible first appearance of Shiny Rookidee, while rare spawns like Axew and Goomy offer additional challenges for dedicated collectors.
The raid rotation receives a complete overhaul. One-Star raids feature Honedge alongside Unown U, Gible, Klink, and Deino, while Three-Star raids include Skarmory, Bisharp, Dragalge, and Turtonator. While not all are currently Shiny-eligible, many offer Shiny potential, making thorough raid participation worthwhile.
Don't forget to redeem these limited-time Pokémon Go codes for free rewards!
The event also includes themed Field Research Tasks and Collection Challenges, providing additional opportunities to earn XP, Stardust, and exclusive encounters. With the event running through July 27th, trainers have nearly a full week to complete all available challenges.
