Midjiwan has unleashed a major update for The Battle of Polytopia: a complete overhaul of the Aquarion Tribe! This popular indie game's original special tribe (first introduced in 2017) gets a stunning makeover.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion receive a significant visual and gameplay upgrade. Land units now sport mermaid tails, granting them amphibious capabilities. They move effortlessly across water but are slower on land. This update also introduces flooded terrain, allowing land and sea units to occupy the same spaces for the first time.
Buildings have also adapted to their aquatic surroundings. Construction on water is now possible, with Lost Cities nestled within deep-sea ruins, creating ideal watery strongholds. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops make a triumphant return, becoming a permanent part of the Aquarion arsenal, functioning similarly to land-based farms.
New aquatic creatures add exciting strategic depth. Sharks provide surprise attacks, puffers offer long-range bombardments, and jellies shock enemies with electricity. Returning favorites, the Tridentons and Crabs, also get enhancements, with Crabs now flooding tiles they traverse, synergizing perfectly with the mermaid units. See it in action!
