What's the Pokémon GO Safari Ball?
Longtime Pokémon fans will recognize Safari Zones from the main series games. These special areas allow for catching rare Pokémon without battling – a feature Niantic is bringing to Pokémon GO with this Wild Area event.
Pokémon GO hasn't seen many new Poké Ball additions. We're used to the standard Poké Ball, Great Ball, Ultra Ball, Premier Ball, and the coveted Master Ball. The Safari Ball adds a fresh element to the mix.
The Wild Area event runs globally from November 23rd to November 24th, 2024, concluding at 6:15 pm local time. Important note: Unused Safari Balls vanish from your inventory after the event ends.
During the event, the Safari Ball becomes your primary tool for catching powerful Pokémon. Niantic's decision to introduce the Safari Ball during a new event, rather than existing Safari Zone or City Safari events, is intriguing.
