EA's long-running mobile game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out, is heading for retirement. After a twelve-year run, the game will be unavailable for download starting October 31st, 2024, with servers shutting down completely on January 24th, 2025. In-app purchases have already been discontinued.
The End of an Era
EA expressed gratitude to players for their years of support in the game's sunset announcement. The collaboration with The Simpsons and The Walt Disney Company allowed players to enjoy building their own Springfield for over a decade.
One Last Chance to Play?
If you haven't experienced the game, now's your last chance. The Simpsons: Tapped Out lets you rebuild Springfield after Homer's disastrous mishap. Manage the town, interact with beloved characters (from Homer and Marge to Fat Tony and Daredevil Bart), expand to Springfield Heights, and even run the Kwik-E-Mart.
The freemium game regularly incorporated updates reflecting Simpsons storylines and real-world holidays. Donuts are the in-game currency driving progression.
