Ubisoft is setting the sails for an ambitious Year 2 of Skull and Bones, aiming to make it the most expansive yet with a slew of major content additions. Fans can look forward to new modes, ships, a legendary Kraken encounter, and the long-awaited feature of land combat.
During a special Year 2 showcase that premiered yesterday, Ubisoft unveiled its roadmap for the upcoming year. The spotlight shone on Season 3: Guts and Glory, set to launch this fall, which introduces the much-anticipated land combat. This feature will allow players to step onto land, engaging in sword fights and using firearms against other players. This is part of the Rogue Warlord update, where players will explore sandy beaches and damp caves to rescue skilled Officers. A teaser video gave a glimpse of what to expect, but players will have to wait until later this year to experience it fully.
While land combat is the headline addition for Skull and Bones Year 2, the showcase revealed a treasure trove of other exciting content planned for 2025. Season 1: Ascent into Chaos, launching today, April 15, introduces an item ascension feature to enhance loot, challenging World Tiers, a new Schooner medium ship, and the team-based Death Tides PvP mode. Season 2: Oaths of War, set for summer 2025, will bring Megaforts and the imposing Frigate large ships. Finally, Season 4: Eye of the Beast, scheduled for this winter, promises to introduce the fearsome Kraken, the Hunter’s Guild, and the Corvette large ship.
If you're tempted to join the pirate adventure, mark your calendars for a free weekend from April 17 to 21. During this period, players can dive into the PvP action and even purchase the game at a discounted price, though the exact discount remains undisclosed.Skull and Bones set sail on February 16, 2024, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S.
