Excitement is building for fans of "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man," the Disney+ animated series that follows Peter Parker's first year in high school. The show has been officially renewed for both Season 2 and Season 3, showcasing Marvel's confidence in the project even before the premiere of Season 1 on January 29.
In an exclusive interview with The Movie Podcast, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming, television, and animation, shared that Season 2 is already well on its way. "I've fallen so head over heels in love with these characters and I've now read all of the scripts for Season 2; we're halfway through the animatics," Winderbaum enthused. He praised lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell for the careful storytelling that begins to pay off in Season 1 and promises to deepen in the subsequent seasons. "What [Jeff Trammell] is building brick by brick in this show starts to pay off. And you feel it in Season 1. You grow connected to these characters so that when everything starts to lock into place and pay off by the end of the season. I feel it in my very soul and it just gets deeper and deeper in subsequent seasons," he added.

Winderbaum is set to meet with Trammell in the coming weeks to discuss the pitch for Season 3, though specific release dates for both Season 2 and Season 3 remain under wraps. The series captures Peter Parker's journey as he navigates his freshman year while discovering his superpowers. It remains to be seen if future seasons will follow his subsequent high school years or focus on more stories from his freshman adventures.
