Top Spring 2025 Anime Recommendations

While standout titles like The Apothecary Diaries, Once Upon A Witch’s Death, The Beginning After The End, To Be Hero X, and WITCH WATCH are must-watches, several other releases deserve a spot on your radar.

Devil May Cry (Netflix) marks the latest animated adaptation of a major video game franchise. With a trailer featuring Limp Bizkit and a new track from Evanescence, the series clearly aims to capture the over-the-top, stylish energy fans expect. Produced by Adi Shankar (Castlevania, Captain Laserhawk) and animated by Studio Mir (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Korra), this action-packed series blends east-west animation styles and delivers fast-paced demon-slaying antics. Even if you’re not familiar with the games, fans of Trigun or high-octane mercenary tales will find plenty to love.

Moonrise (Netflix) explores a bold premise—the Moon fighting for independence from Earth. Backed by WIT Studio (Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga), character designs by Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist), and direction from Masashi Koizuka (Attack on Titan Seasons 2 & 3), this ONA brings together top-tier talent. Though details remain scarce since its original 2024 delay, the secrecy only builds anticipation for what could be a standout sci-fi epic.

Lastly, YAIBA: Samurai Legends (Netflix) revives Gosho Aoyama’s classic manga—best known for Detective Conan—in a fresh anime adaptation by WIT Studio. This time, Aoyama is directly involved in production, ensuring authenticity. The series follows Yaiba Kurogane, a young samurai wielding a legendary sword, as he battles supernatural foes and a demonic army. With its mix of humor, martial arts action, and historical flair, YAIBA is perfect for fans of early Dragon Ball and Detective Conan alike. Don’t miss this nostalgic yet vibrant revival.
