Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating Season Two of the hit Netflix show with a massive content update! Get ready for new characters, a new map, exciting challenges, and exclusive rewards.
Released just before the holidays, Netflix made the surprising move of offering Squid Game: Unleashed free to all players, subscribers and non-subscribers alike. This new content update, starting January 3rd, is designed to further engage players and incentivize Netflix subscriptions.
What's New in the Update?
This update introduces a map inspired by the Mingle mini-game from Squid Game Season Two. Three new playable characters—Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos—will also debut throughout January.
- January 3rd: The Mingle map launches alongside Geum-Ja. A special Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event runs until January 9th, challenging players to complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins to unlock Geum-Ja.
- January 9th: Thanos arrives with his own recruitment event, the Thanos’ Red Light Challenge. Eliminate players using knives to unlock this character. This event runs until January 14th.
- January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the game as the final character addition in this wave.
Exclusive Rewards for Netflix Viewers:
Watching episodes of Squid Game Season Two unlocks in-game Cash and Wild Tokens. Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the exclusive Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!
A Smart Strategy for Netflix:
Netflix's decision to make Squid Game: Unleashed free to play, coupled with the reward system for watching the show, represents a significant shift in their gaming strategy. It's a bold move that cleverly promotes both the game and the show, potentially creating a powerful synergy between the two.
