"Star Wars: KOTOR Remake Still in Development, Developer Confirms"

Author : Emily Update:May 02,2025

Saber Interactive has reaffirmed that all its previously announced projects, including the highly anticipated Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) remake, are still actively in development. Despite the lack of updates on these high-profile titles, the company remains committed to delivering on its promises. In a recent tweet, Saber's Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, emphasized the studio's status as one of the largest independent developers globally and their ongoing work across various genres. "Everything that we have talked about is still in development," Willits stated, assuring fans that updates will be shared when ready.

The KOTOR remake, announced back in 2021, has been a topic of much speculation due to its development turbulence. After changing hands multiple times and facing apparent development halts, the project was confirmed to still be in active development by Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch in April 2024, following the company's split from Embracer Group. Karch's comments underscored their dedication to the project, aiming to exceed consumer expectations. Willits' recent statement serves as a further reassurance, though no new footage or details have been released since the initial announcement.

Aside from the KOTOR remake, Saber Interactive is also progressing with other titles. Games like John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park Survival are slated for a 2025 release, though specific dates remain undisclosed. The studio is also developing a new Turok game and an untitled Avatar: The Last Airbender project. The recent announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 adds another exciting title to their lineup.
