Shift Up, the developer behind the acclaimed action-adventure game Stellar Blade, has hinted at a potential PC port. Currently a PS5 exclusive due to a partnership with Sony, Stellar Blade's impressive sales and critical reception (an 82 average on OpenCritic from 124 reviews, and a #1 US sales spot in its launch month) have fueled this consideration.
During a recent IPO press conference, CEO Kim Hyung-Tae stated that a PC port is "under consideration," though a firm timeline remains unconfirmed due to contractual obligations with Sony. CFO Jae-woo Ahn further emphasized the shifting market towards PC for AAA titles, suggesting a PC release could significantly boost the IP's value.
This aligns with Shift Up's previous financial report, which indicated exploration of both a sequel and a PC port for Stellar Blade. Given Sony's growing trend of bringing PS5 exclusives to PC (as evidenced by the upcoming PC release of God of War: Ragnarok), a Stellar Blade PC port appears increasingly likely.
While the decision remains pending, Shift Up is actively working on optimizing the PS5 experience. Recent updates, however, have introduced some graphical glitches, which the developer is actively addressing. Despite these minor setbacks, the future of Stellar Blade on PC looks promising.
