The popular digital board game, Ticket to Ride, is expanding its reach with the new Switzerland expansion! This exciting addition opens up a new route to Switzerland, introducing both country-to-country and city-to-country connections. Players can now strategically build their railroad empires across Switzerland and its neighboring nations.
Beyond new locations, the Switzerland expansion introduces two new characters and four new train tokens, making it a perfect holiday gift for Ticket to Ride enthusiasts. Developer Marmalade Games aimed to provide a festive update with added gameplay mechanics. These new route types demand fresh strategic thinking, making the expansion engaging for both seasoned players and newcomers.
Country-to-country tickets challenge players to connect specific countries, offering multiple options and varying point values. For example, connecting France could lead to Germany, Italy, or Austria, each yielding a different reward. City-to-country tickets follow a similar principle, but connect cities to countries. The limited number of nodes per country necessitates careful planning to secure the most valuable routes.
Successful route completions earn points based on the highest-scoring connection, while incomplete tickets incur penalties based on their lowest value.
