Nightdive Studios, renowned for its work reviving the System Shock series—including the 2013 remaster of System Shock 2 and the recent remake of the original game—had initially planned to launch this project alongside the System Shock remake. Development delays, however, required a shift in their schedule.
The studio's 2023 remake of the first game was well-received, earning a 78/100 on Metacritic, a 7.6/10 user score, and an impressive 91% positive rating on Steam. With the System Shock 2 remaster finally approaching, the wait is almost over.
