Assassin's Creed: Shadows Unveils Character Progression and Equipment Details
Ubisoft's latest article spotlights the gameplay mechanics of Assassin's Creed: Shadows, focusing on the unique progression systems for Yasuke and Naoe. A significant highlight is the enhanced capabilities of the iconic Hidden Blade.
Each character boasts a distinct skill tree reflecting their combat style: Yasuke's emphasizes samurai techniques, while Naoe's centers on shinobi skills. Players distribute skill points to unlock weapon-specific abilities and refine fighting styles. Mastery points, earned by completing open-world tasks and defeating elite enemies like Daisyo samurai, fuel this progression.
Ubisoft assures balanced character growth, preventing one character from outpacing the other. Unlocking powerful abilities demands specific actions, such as tracking down a clandestine shinobi group. Other upgrades are linked to the "Knowledge" system, advanced by studying ancient texts or engaging in prayer at shrines. Reaching Knowledge rank six unlocks a new skill tree.
The game's equipment system features five quality tiers: common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary. Players can upgrade and visually customize gear at a blacksmith. Armor and weapon perks offer significant gameplay alterations.
The Hidden Blade remains a crucial tool, delivering instant kills with a single strike. Assassin's Creed: Shadows launches worldwide on March 20th for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
