Dead Sails Kraken Boss Guide
Your journey begins right in the heart of town, across from the Gun Store and Hospital, and in front of the Trading Hut. Start by offloading any excess loot and gearing up. My go-to choice is a Rifle, available for just $75, which provides sufficient firepower to fend off enemies for a bit. Don't forget to stock up on coal to keep your boat's old-school engine running smoothly.
Your next destination is 10,000m away. Simply start your boat and you're on your way. You might encounter Zombies and Drowned along the route, but it's not worth stopping for the sparse loot in the side houses. To restart your ship, just add more coal. Ignore the worm on the right side for now, and wait until you reach the second safe zone to sell your items. Be cautious of Big Foot and Zombie mobs on either side of the river.
After reaching the second safe zone or town, you'll face areas with burning buildings teeming with mobs. If you're with friends, it might be worth clearing them out; otherwise, it's generally a waste of time due to scattered spawn points. At around 12,000m, you'll find a castle-like house filled with Drowned and valuable loot like Shotgun ammo. Use these resources wisely.

By this point, you've got the basics down—kill, loot, repeat, and hope your enemies fall. But to elevate your gameplay, focus on efficiency. Use your boat as your primary inventory, emptying your bag whenever you return to save time and space.
A key strategy I found useful while crafting this guide is stacking Zombies near the incinerator. It's tempting to rush out of those rural towns, but efficient loot stacking can make a significant difference. Running low on fuel? Just toss a few Zombies into the incinerator and you're set.
Also, keep an eye on Sheriff's offices, where you'll often find a high concentration of mobs, but also rewarding loot like weapons and ammo. I managed to keep my shotgun stocked for a long time by having a teammate clear the ground floor while we explored each town.
Save your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits for the fortress at around 25,000m. This area is still under construction, making it easy for mobs to ambush you. I recommend tackling it with at least three friends, with a five-person team being ideal. Be strategic about picking up loot.
Avoid engaging Big Feet after 30,000m; they're tough, require a lot of ammo, and hit hard. Don't linger unnecessarily; plan your stops wisely. Remember, loot isn't everything.
The town at 50,000m is one of my top farming spots, with at least two dozen Drowned and Zombies. If you have friends with Shotguns or a Sawnoff, it's a great place to gather corpses for fuel. Coordinate with your team to efficiently prepare the bodies for loading.
How to Defeat the Kraken Boss in Dead Sails
Before facing the Kraken, sell all your items in the final safe zone and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't go easy on the Zombies and Drowned; you'll need a stash of at least 8-10 corpses for fuel during this final phase. As you approach 100,000m, you'll reach open waters, signaling the imminent battle as the skies darken.
As the Kraken emerges, EVERYONE MUST TARGET a tentacle. The boss has substantial health, and each tentacle can attack and cause damage if not dealt with. If you have five players, form a pentagram-like shape and let each person handle their own tentacle.
Watch out for the water splash ability, which causes AoE damage and is telegraphed by the Kraken pulling back its tentacle, leaving a water trail. Use medkits liberally here, as some damage is unavoidable.
Lastly, be mindful of the Roar AoE, which causes minor damage and can't be blocked. It also seems to buff the boss slightly. You'll notice it by the white concentric circles emanating from the tentacle that used the ability.
As you can see, it's not as daunting as it seems. That's all there is to my Dead Sails Kraken Guide. If you're looking to conquer the boss even faster, grab one of our Dead Sails codes to see how far and how fast you can go. Good luck and smooth sailing!
