WoW's Plunderstorm Event Delayed
World of Warcraft's anticipated return of the Plunderstorm event has been postponed due to unforeseen technical difficulties. While Blizzard aims to launch Plunderstorm before the end of January 14th, 2025, a precise relaunch time remains unannounced.
Plunderstorm, a popular pirate-themed battle royale mode introduced during the Dragonflight expansion, was slated to return on January 14th, offering both original and new rewards. However, unexpected issues arose during the planned server maintenance, resulting in a delay beyond the initial eight-hour extension.
Plunderstorm Launch Timeline:
- Before the end of January 14th, 2025 (pending resolution of unforeseen issues)
Despite the delay, World of Warcraft's regular servers are operational. Players can engage in other activities, such as completing Siren Isle weeklies, participating in the Turbulent Timeways event, or pursuing other content within the game.
The second iteration of Plunderstorm includes new features, such as the Plunderstore and an in-game event interface, which may have contributed to the unexpected issues. Blizzard is working to resolve these problems swiftly.
The delay hasn't impacted the ongoing Plunderstorm Twitch Drops promotion. Viewers can earn the Coward's Azure Target transmog by watching four hours of any World of Warcraft Twitch stream before February 4th at 10 AM PST. This allows players to earn rewards while awaiting Plunderstorm's release.
