What Is Yellowjackets About?

Yellowjackets follows an elite girls' high school soccer team after their plane crashes in the remote Canadian wilderness. The series alternates between two timelines: one depicting the teenagers' struggle for survival, where cooperation and conflict intertwine, and the other set 25 years later, showing the adult women dealing with their traumatic past. Although the show is not based on a true story, it draws inspiration from several real events, most notably the 1972 Andes flight disaster, which was also the subject of Netflix’s Oscar-nominated film "Society of the Snow" last year.
