MiHoYo's upcoming action RPG, Zenless Zone Zero, unveiled new content in a recent pre-release livestream. This version 1.0 showcase, just before the July 4th launch, offers a final glimpse at new playable areas and characters.
Set in a post-apocalyptic New Eridu, players take on the role of "Proxy," navigating the last human city amidst the devastation of the Hollows event. This departure from MiHoYo's usual sci-fi and fantasy settings marks a bold new direction, potentially leading to their biggest success yet.
High expectations are warranted. Following the phenomenal success of Genshin Impact, MiHoYo continues its upward trajectory. Zenless Zone Zero's urban fantasy setting, a shift from the Honkai and Genshin franchises, is further highlighted by the prominent role of music in the livestream's presentation of gameplay and locations.
