GTA Lead Designer Unveils Techno Spy Thriller: MindsEye

Leslie Benzies, the mastermind behind iconic titles like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption at Rockstar Games, is gearing up to unveil his latest project, MindsEye. This much-anticipated game was showcased in a new cinematic trailer during the PlayStation State of Play, offering fans a glimpse into what promises to be a thrilling high-tech spy adventure.

The trailer for MindsEye highlights its third-person shooting mechanics, high-quality cinematics, and intense drive-and-gun sequences, drawing clear parallels to Benzies' previous work on Grand Theft Auto. You can immerse yourself in the cinematic trailer below.

According to the official press release, MindsEye centers on Jacob Diaz, who is fitted with a neural implant known as the MindsEye. This device has disrupted his memories, leaving him with fragmented flashbacks from his military past. Driven by a quest to uncover the truth about his history, Jacob finds himself at odds with an AI-driven military force determined to thwart his mission.

Since leaving Rockstar Games, Benzies has established his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy, and collaborated with the developers of Hitman, IO Interactive, on MindsEye. Positioned as a AAA action-adventure game, MindsEye will also introduce the Everywhere platform. Described as a "big budget Roblox" following a visit to their studio in 2024, Everywhere aims to offer a vast, interactive environment.

Although the new trailer did not mention Everywhere, MindsEye itself appears poised to deliver an exhilarating new action game from a legendary figure in the genre. The release of MindsEye is slated for the summer of 2025.
