Your journey begins with Casper Rudolf, who you'll find near his drink cart on the east side of Kuttenberg City. Just head straight from the east gate, and you'll bump into him. Casper's curious about the secret behind the monks' wine, but uncovering it involves several steps. Make sure to exhaust all dialogue options with him to learn about Havel and a book he left with Adleta, which will guide your approach to impressing Havel.

If you decide to retrieve the book from Adleta, head to the southeast corner of Kuttenberg's inner wall during the morning or afternoon. You'll find an open garden where Adleta hangs out. Before you go, pick five Marigolds. Try to meet Adleta before her brother Hugo arrives, or if you encounter Hugo first, get his permission to talk to her. During your conversation, be kind and explain that you need the book for Casper. You can either pass a skill check to persuade her or offer the Marigolds as a gift to secure the book. Once you have it, read it from your inventory.

Alternatively, if you skip retrieving the book, head directly to Havel at his inn in Kuttenberg City. Ensure your Charisma is at least 18 by choosing the right outfit and brushing up on your drinking skills. Engage Havel with these dialogue choices:

• Germany. Let’s do it.
• That’s a very fine gift.
• Steinberger.
• It’s missing ginger.

These choices will impress Havel, leading him to reveal the monastery's secret ingredient. Return to Casper with this information.

Find the Monastery’s Secret Ingredient

Next, head to the vineyard north of Kuttenberg and speak to the recruiter to begin the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest. While completing this quest isn't necessary, starting it allows you to roam the vineyard without being seen as a trespasser. Inside, find Jerome, usually sitting on a bench near the main building.

Once inside the main building, sneak left to the storeroom and use your lockpicking skills to open the chests. Inside, you'll find the Sulphur Wicks that Casper needs. For extra Groschen, visit the garden at the back of the main building and take five seedlings before leaving.

If you choose to complete "Under the Straw Hat," you'll need to perform tasks such as removing plants around the vines and moving sacks. After completing enough work, report to Jerome to finish the side quest and earn some Groschen. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and any seedlings you've collected.

Completing "In Vino Veritas" allows you to progress to other quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 or spend time on other activities like collecting badges and dice.
