Premium USB Camera Viewer & HDMI Monitor

To turn your device into a portable display for cameras, gaming consoles, laptops, PCs, or other HDMI-output devices, you'll need an HDMI to USB-C dongle (a UVC capture device or video capture card, not a USB-C hub or USB-C to HDMI cable).

Devices with USB streaming, like cameras, endoscopes, and microscopes, are also supported.

Noir supports UVC video and UAC audio streaming, with a choice between OpenGL ES or Vulkan for the graphics backend.

The free version offers core functionality and an immersive experience (ads are present but not in the video preview). Unlock the Pro version for advanced features and to support Noir's ongoing development and maintenance.

FAQ

1. Why doesn't Noir recognize my device?

Common reasons include your phone/tablet lacking USB Host (OTG) support, or the connected device not being a proper video capture card.

Sometimes, your mobile device may not supply enough power for the capture card. In that case, a powered USB hub is needed.

2. Why is the preview so laggy?

This is usually related to the USB version.

For a USB 3.0 capture card, ensure both your USB data cable and your phone/tablet's USB port also support USB 3.0.

For a USB 2.0 capture card, ensure the video format is MJPEG and resolution does not exceed 1080p30fps spec. Some cards can handle up to 1080p50fps.

3. Why did my previously working capture card suddenly stop connecting?

This is often a temporary system issue. The simplest fix is to restart your phone or tablet and try again.

4. Why does my gaming console or video player show a black screen when connected?

This often affects PS5/PS4 users and is caused by HDCP being enabled. On your PS console, go to Settings -> System -> HDMI and disable HDCP. (PS3 does not allow HDCP disable). Other devices may also auto-enable HDCP during video playback. While some HDMI splitters can bypass HDCP, we do not officially recommend this solution.

5. Why are only 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios supported?

To our knowledge, no capture cards on the market support other native ratios. You can customize the aspect ratio using Noir's Stretch feature. This requires your capture card's EDID to support it, and you must set your computer/laptop's output resolution to match that custom ratio.
