Map areas are cached on your device for offline access, especially effective with OSM and Mapbox. Recording and calculating statistics rely solely on GPS; internet is only needed to load map images.

While on the move, enable navigation mode for automatic map rotation in your direction of travel, simplifying guidance.

The app records tracks in the background on many devices (note: may require system settings adjustment—see in-app instructions). Background power use is highly optimized, typically allowing all-day recording. An economy mode is also available in settings.

Geo Tracker calculates comprehensive statistics:

• Minimum and maximum altitude, and elevation gain;

Helpful tips for common smartphone GPS issues:

• After starting tracking, allow a moment for the GPS signal to lock.

• Restart your phone and ensure a clear view of the sky, away from obstructions like tall buildings or dense trees.

• Signal conditions vary due to weather, season, satellite alignment, poor coverage zones, urban structures, forests, etc.

• Go to your phone’s Settings, select "Location," and ensure it is enabled.

• In Settings under "Date & time," activate "Automatic date & time" and "Automatic time zone." Incorrect time zones can delay GPS acquisition.

• Disable airplane mode in your phone settings.

If problems persist, uninstall and reinstall the app.

Note: Google Maps supplements GPS data with location information from nearby Wi‑Fi and mobile networks.
